Dr. Williams is a Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology and Board Certified in
Radiation Oncology, and is a member of ASTRO, ASCO and ABS. He has received
specialized training in implant brachytherapy, and has practiced in both academic centers
and private practice in the Atlanta area since 1992. Dr. Williams is the author or co-author
of more than 70 peer-reviewed abstracts and publications. He is active in numerous
clinical trials including those in the Atlanta Regional Clinical Oncology Program. He is
a co-investigator for the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG) Stereotactic Body
Radiotherapy trials in Atlanta. He is a Cancer Conference facilitator and Physician Quality
Assurance Reviewer. Dr. Williams is a graduate of Tulane Medical
School, where he received honors in Medicine and Surgery and was the recipient of an
NHLBI Institutional Research Grant as well as the James A. McLaurin Award for Excellence
in Research. His surgical internship was at the Columbia Hospitals - St. Luke’s/Roosevelt
Medical Center in New York City, with his Radiation Oncology Residency at Downstate
Medical Center at Brooklyn, where he was selected to be Chief Resident. He served in
the US Army Reserves for eight years. He volunteers at Cancer Screenings as part of
hospital outreach programs. He has earned the Patient’s Choice Award for both 2010 and 2011.
