Erich G. Randolph, MDDr. Erich Randolph Appears in Three Major Metro Atlanta Media Outlets

Atlanta Oncology Associates Physician Featured in Atlanta Magazine, on WGCL-TV, and in the Atlanta Business Chronicle

Dr. Erich G. Randolph of Atlanta Oncology Associates — one of the largest radiation therapy groups in the Southeast — was recently featured in three major Metro Atlanta media outlets: Atlanta Magazine, WGCL-TV (CBS), and the Atlanta Business Chronicle (ABC).

“It’s thrilling to receive such coverage,” Dr. Randolph said. “The media presents a wonderful opportunity to keep Atlanta’s cancer community aware of the world-class treatments and services available in their area.”

The March 2008 Atlanta Magazine piece, a first-hand account by the magazine’s former editor-in-chief Lee Walburn, recognized Dr. Randolph’s role in successfully treating Walburn’s recent bout with prostate cancer. The story documented Walburn’s cancer diagnosis and successful radiation treatment, administered in part by Dr. Randolph.

Dr. Randolph appeared in an April 17 broadcast of WGCL-TV’s (CBS) Channel 46 News, which aired a 90-second segment featuring AOA’s Northlake office as the only practice in Metro Atlanta to house the AccuBoost radiation system. In the segment, Dr. Randolph described the breakthrough technology, which delivers the crucial “boost” phase of radiation therapy.

Dr. Randolph was featured twice in two months in the Atlanta Business Chronicle. First, he was quoted in an April 10 column by Deborah Held Masila about health care revenue, titled “Physician practice growth a result of economics.” Second, he appeared as the subject of a May 9 article titled “A ‘true hero’ in the effort to end disparities.” The article stemmed from the 2008 ABC Health Care Awards celebration, held on May 8, during which Dr. Randolph received the Physician award.

Dr. Randolph, whose special interests in radiation oncology are prostate, breast, and colorectal cancers, is a member of the American Cancer Society and served on the advisory Board at the Atlanta City Unit. He is also a member of the Medical Association of Atlanta, the Atlanta Medical Association, the National Medical Association, the Gilbert H. Fletcher Society, and the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, and is past Vice-Chair of the Grady Hospital-Fulton DeKalb Hospital Authority.
