Dr. McCord was interviewed for an article by Atlanta Business Chronicle health reporter Erin Moriarty on Friday, February 17, and covered proposed tax breaks for doctors who switch to an electronic, rather than paper-based, medical records system.
Dr. McCord voiced his approval of the idea. “It’s important to get these projects started,” he was quoted as saying.
Dr. McCord was also featured in a story by Rockdale Citizen reporter Brooke Starr. The story ran Monday, February 13, and covered the first reported decline in U.S. cancer deaths in over 70 years. Dr. McCord was quoted on the technological advances of radiation treatments that have led to the ultimate drop in cancer mortality rates.
“Technological advances in radiation therapy have allowed us to tailor our cancer treatment to the patient and target only the afflicted area, sparing healthy tissues,” he said. “This leads to a vast improvement in the patient’s quality of life.”
