Dr. Matthews is a member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology. He was one of the major contributors to a widely disseminated Radiation Oncology handbook, Radiation Oncology: A Question-Based Review, used by residents and medical students across the country. He founded OncCharts.com, an innovative web tool for cancer patients designed to help them validate the quality of their cancer care (Available May 2012, patent inquiry pending).

Dr. Matthews resides in Greensboro, Georgia with his wife and son. He enjoys playing golf, basketball and chess. He actively follows Duke basketball and pro sports.
